Precision straightening of railway axles
After forging process, automatic straightening machine Gantry is the ideal solution for railway axles. The straightening process is performed before turning operation. Hot straightening allows to take the advantage of material plasticity to uniform fibers.
The workpiece clamping for their rotation in the machine takes place with specific manipulators able to handle even irregular ends. Generally, Gantry 500 ton machine is very compact and fast in the process.
The straightening machine can be equipped with high temperature protection devices, pyrometer for workpiece temperature measurement, machine safety devices from calamine slags and, to achieve the maximum productivity, can be loading/unloading systems with chains and forks according to customer plant layout requirements or to the production flow to be followed.
